The people who will actually be in your house
Around fourteen of us, about twenty projects a year — small enough that you will know everyone’s name by week two.
Remodeling firms love the word “team” and then send strangers to your door. Here is ours, by name, with the honest version of what each of them will do on your project. These six lead the work; our carpenters and long-time trade partners round out the crew.
Erin Vosskuhler
Principal & Design Lead
Erin has drawn more than two hundred Madison kitchens and still measures every room herself. She trained in architecture at UW–Milwaukee, spent six years with a Chicago residential firm, and came home in 2011 to start Fourlakes with her brother. Her drawings are famous in the shop for including the client’s coffee maker, to scale.
Ted Vosskuhler
Principal & Production Lead
Ted swung his first hammer on a job site at fourteen, summering with their father’s trim crew. He runs production: the calendars, the crews, and the standard that a site gets broom-swept every night. He has personally framed, or checked the framing on, every structural opening Fourlakes has cut.
Gus Reyes
Master Cabinetmaker
Thirty years at the bench, the last twelve running our shop. Gus builds in rift and quartersawn white oak, walnut, and painted maple, and he installs what he builds — which is why he builds it right. Ask him about five-piece doors and budget twenty minutes.
Maya Cheng
Project Manager
Maya is the author of the Friday update and the keeper of the posted calendar. Clients get her cell on day one. Before Fourlakes she managed commercial fit-outs, where being three days late costs someone a store opening — a standard she brought with her.
Cole Brandt
Site Lead
Cole runs our larger sites — the whole-homes and additions. Twenty years of carpentry, a NARI Certified Remodeler, and the person your neighbors will end up waving at. He keeps a photo log of every wall he closes, which has settled more than one future mystery.
Robin Vang
Design Assistant
Robin runs materials: the sample library, the tile orders, and the finish schedules that keep nine decisions from becoming ninety. UW–Madison interior architecture, class of 2023, and already the reason two projects came in under their tile budget.
